JEWELLERY

  • I am happy to take more photographs and make videos of the jewellery. Please send an email to post@kimvanzweeden.nl. It may take a little while because I store the jewellery in a safe location. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

  • You are welcome to try on jewellery in my studio – by appointment only. Call or send me an email and we’ll set up a meeting.

Because not everyone is able to visit my studio in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, I make sure to make excellent photographs. These are very clear and show you all the different sides and details of the jewellery, including any signs of having been worn by previous owners. The description always states clearly whether a ring can be adjusted to a bigger or smaller size in case it is not a perfect fit for you.

  • Yes, this is almost always possible. Unless the description of the ring states that it’s not possible because of the design. I work together with a skilled and experienced goldsmith in Rotterdam. Call or email me for more information.

If you don’t want to make use of the service and have ordered a ring from my store and it turns out to be too large or too small, you can return it within 14 days under certain conditions. You will find these conditions in the FAQ on this webpage. If you really love the ring and want to keep it, I recommend that you go to a local jeweller who you trust. This jeweller can adjust the size of the ring.

  • Every item of jewellery with a gemstone in my store has been assessed by a qualified expert who has many years of experience. When you buy an item of jewellery with a gemstone, you will receive an official certificate of authenticity with a stamp and signature.

  • No, unfortunately I don’t. All the vintage and antique jewellery I sell is unique. Would you like to buy something similar? Let me help out! Please send your wishes, your ring size and the amount of money you wish to spend to post@kimvanzweeden.nl. I frequently go to antique markets and art auctions both in the Netherlands and abroad, so I can keep a lookout for you. There are no obligations.

  • Every order is treated like a present. All items of jewellery are gift-wrapped. Would you like to add a personal message on a card? Do specify this when you place your order. What’s more, all orders are shipped in blank packaging so it will be a surprise until you open the package.

RESERVATIONS, PAYMENT AND RETURNS

  • Yes, you can. If you are not sure about your purchase, I can reserve it for you for 24 hours. Please send an email to post@kimvanzweeden.nl. The period of 24 hours starts after I have confirmed receipt of your reservation. Naturally I try to answer all emails as quickly as I can. If the piece of jewellery has been sold in the meantime, I am sorry to have to disappoint you. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

  • To buy a piece of jewellery in my shop, please send an email to post@kimvanzweeden.nl. I will send you an invoice as soon as possible.

  • Every piece of jewellery is accurately described in full detail. The photographs are very clear so you can see if there are any signs of them having been worn by previous owners. Should the item of jewellery you purchased not be to your complete satisfaction, then you can return it within 14 days after receiving it but only under the condition that the parcel is insured and that proof of this insurance is sent to post@kimvanzweeden.nl.

The postal address is Vijverhofstraat 92, 3032 SN Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The postage and insurance costs for returning the jewellery are paid by you, the customer. The customer is also responsible for the return shipment. As soon as I receive the parcel and the jewellery is in the same condition as when I shipped it to you, I will confirm receipt and make sure that the purchase price is paid back into your account within 14 days.

I cannot accept damaged jewellery or jewellery that has been returned to me more than 14 days after purchase. No matter what the circumstances are. Thank you for your understanding.

SHIPMENT

  • Yes, I do.

  • After receiving your order, I will let you know the shipping costs. This is based on the order and your address. Obviously, the parcel is always insured when it is shipped. This means that you must show your ID when the package is delivered to you and you also have to sign for it.

  • The country where the parcel is delivered to determines whether there are any import duties and other taxes. There are not always additional charges, but if there are they are based on the value of your jewellery for example. Unfortunately, I cannot calculate these costs beforehand as they differ for each country. It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay for any import duties.

  • As soon as I post the package with the jewellery to you, you will receive confirmation of this and a code you can use for tracking and tracing. If the parcel is lost while it is being shipped, I will do anything in my power to help you find it. I will always ask for proof of delivery to the transport company. I am not responsible if the parcel is lost in the post. Please choose a trustworthy address to have the jewellery shipped to.

  • I don’t print any invoices in order to make my business more sustainable. After you order jewellery from my online store, you will receive an invoice by email. This is better for the environment as it saves paper. Thanks for your understanding.

ABOUT KIM VAN ZWEEDEN AND HER BUSINESS

  • You’re very welcome to visit my studio in Rotterdam (by appointment only). Send me an email or call me and we’ll set up a meeting. Let’s enjoy a cuppa and have a look at all of the available vintage and antique jewellery.

  • As a big fan of vintage and antique jewellery, I am always looking for exceptional items of jewellery. I usually find jewellery in or near Rotterdam, but occasionally on business trips throughout the Netherlands or abroad.

  • I became fascinated by jewellery as a child. I am particularly interested in the stories connected to pieces of jewellery. As a self-taught expert I have done many years of research: books, documentaries, museums, blogs and conversations with dealers of antiques and fellow collectors both in the Netherlands and abroad. I am currently studying Gemmology at the Dutch Gemstone Laboratory at Naturalis/ University of Leiden.

  • There might be a vacancy soon. Please send an email  to post@kimvanzweeden.nl with your cv and motivation.
