RESERVED – Antique ring with sapphire and diamonds

Diamonds and sapphires are a classic combination. This antique golden ring consists of two large, dazzling diamonds and an ink blue sapphire.

This design with a flush setting was immensely popular in the Victorian age. Traditionally, these rings were given as a friendship band. What a flush setting means? The gemstones are sunk into the metal. Usually there are one to three stones in this kind of ring.

This classic combination of diamonds and sapphires is also very popular among international royalty. Nerd alert: In the Netherlands, the most famous example of this classic combination is the golden tiara worn by Queen Máxima when King William Alexander ascended the throne in 2013. This tiara is one of the crown jewels and has 655 diamonds and 33 sapphires.
