Vintage garnet ring from 1975
Garnets come in all almost every colour and they have been around for centuries. One of the first examples of jewellery with red garnets is a necklace which belonged to an Egyptian pharaoh. It was even entombed with the mummified corpse for the afterlife!
This ring was assayed in 1975 in Birmingham and holds a dark red garnet. Both mysterious and mesmerizing. I understand now why garnets historically have been associated with blood.
