White gold earrings with diamonds
I love the way these vintage earrings move without actually being moved. Do you see it too? They remind me of windmills that we used to put in the sand. If it wasn’t windy enough, you blew as hard as possible so that it still started spinning. Such sweet childhood memories.
In terms of design, these earrings were made somewhere in between the sixties and seventies of the last century. I would say it leans more towards the sixties – famous for Midcentury Modern, 3D designs, Brutalism and experimenting with structure. Playing with structure got even more important in the 1970s. The most important thing of all: it had to move. Often even literally. When I think of the 1970s I see long, dangly earrings – perfect for dancing the night away.
This pair here might be a bit more modest than the designs from the seventies, but will definitely get noticed on the dancefloor too as they play with the light. They’re simply wonderful!
